Leather supplier in Chiang Mai

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

I'm going to visit Thailand for my honeymoon. I'm leather craftsmen, I'm looking for a leather supplier in Chiang Mai(finish leather and crust leather). Can you please tell me some good leather supplier in Chiang Mai.

Thanks in advance,

Hoang Vu

Ive used Darwood a couple of times. Apparently he can make things to order and at a reasonable price but Im not too keen on a few repairs that he had done for me.

The latest being to sew a strap back onto a 'man bag'. Its one of those that you just throw over a shoulder. It was a double skinned bag and made of leather. I expected him to unpick the edging so as to hide stitching of the strap inside.

Didnt happen...he just machine stitched thru both skins. It took 3 hours!

Next time I'll hand do it myself.

Did you tell him how you wanted it done? Everyone has their own ideas about how something should look.

He's pretty good at following directions when I've had him make things for me.

Unfortunately I did not, and even more stupid of me for assuming that he would have done it that way (Properly).

Lesson learnt.

Oh just to add that the other end of the strap was 'blind' sewn...hence my personal reasoning that he would copy that end so all was the same.

Dont get me wrong, they are very nice people. My fault for assuming!

That the other end was blind stitched does make it odd that he didn't replicate it for the repair.

On the other hand... this IS Thailand.

you mean following orders?

could smell the sweaty leather and man juice, and sweat and dust and just plain manly odor.

this was about men dealing with other men in a most direct way. brought out the gimp and did it.

did it with reaking leather. a custom switch made. it was about one man making another man accept defeat. and boy did dad take it well.
