He confirmed that there would be sufficient water for such purposes. The rest three million cubic meters were used for rice cultivation but 3.5 million cubic meters were needed by more than 340,000 Rai of rice fields in Ayutthaya, said the director. The province’s shortage of water for rice cultivation damaged as many as 50,000 Rai of paddy fields, he added.Mr.Bodaeng therefore urged farmers to delay their rice cultivation until the rainy season starting in May. Reigntax
"It was expected that there would be more rain during this years rainy season, said the director." Nothing gets past these brain surgeons. That must be why its called "rainy season".

Nothing gets past these brain surgeons. That must be why its called "rainy season". Nothing seemed to get past the Minister of Agriculture in the last PTP government. He was the one who ignored ALL the advice given and ordered the department to drain the reservoirs down to below the recommended safe level so that Bangkok would not be flooded. In that he was correct but Thailand is suffering from him being chosen as the best man for the job. Just so you don't get your panties twisted too quickly he was from the coalition Chart Thai Pattana party owned by Banharn Silpa Archa.
robblok
Wow.. just look how much those rice farmers take compared to people 100.000 cubic meter.. 100.000 for industry.. 200.000 for drought resistant crop and 3.100.000 for rice. Nice numbers.. So if there is a shortage of water for consumption we know who is the cause of it
vrskrng
Rice doesn't even need to be in water, it is just a way to prevent other plants to grow.

So if there is a shortage of water for consumption we know who is the cause of it Globally agriculture accounts for 70% of all water use, So these figures shouldn't surprise, especially for water dependent crops like rice. So if we just stop giving farmers their water there is enough water for human consumption. Seems the problem is solved just shut the farmers down water for human consumption is far more important.
