Thailand Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 I guess I would also surrender if I had a lump of lead in my gut. Crackdown on weapons -OK
NongKhaiKid Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 So it takes a gunfight with police to get their interest in illegal weapons and the word ' encourages ' doesn't create confidence. As for the BB's promise to take action ... !
trogers Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 (edited) Message from the police: It is okay to own illegal weapons as long as they are not used against us! Edited February 4, 2016 by trogers
NCC1701A Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 Police Commander: "So someone actually shot at you? Wow, what was it like." Cop: "First I wet my pants, then run and wait for pants to dry out, you know, group photo." Police Commander: "Congratulations. Well done."
NeverSure Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 Does anyone else think that's a very early (and battered) M16? I don't see a forward assist. Does anyone? Could that be Vietnam war era with some modifications to the stocks? I wonder how much of that stuff is floating around unknown in Thailand. ?? Cheers.
clockman Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 10 million known guns, in a so called Buddhist country!
sawadee1947 Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 I'm not sure....did they want to shoot his stomsch....or was it just inability to aim at his leg.....?
cgphuket Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 Too bad they wernt encouraged to crack down on illegal weapons before this. Thailand: Hub of doing nothing until absolutely required.
Emster23 Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 Too bad they wernt encouraged to crack down on illegal weapons before this. Thailand: Hub of doing nothing until absolutely required. and then still do nothing other than hold press conference
snowgard Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 Police promise to crack down on illegal gun owners??? What a joke!!!! This gun market exist now for years and a lot of illegal guns are selled there and still on sale now: http://www.gundd.com/
JeremyBowskill Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 Wouldn't a gunfight have two sides shooting at each other? Surely this is just a shooting?
ronaldo0 Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 As I stated in a post yesterday, it is alarming the amount of unknown guns in this country in the hands of idiots!! The only saving grace from what I have been told by people with guns is that the ammo is difficult to get . This is why any arrest pic you only see a few bullets in the photos. If it is possible to buy a lot you can bet they wont be cheap !!

This is a very serious weapon to have stashed in the back shed Thank goodness, as another poster suggests, the ammo is hard to come by, although I believe it takes a common NATO round, so I don't know why this would be so

As an aside, the 9mm is also the NATO handgun round and there's a ton of that in Thailand.
