DSI raid Pattaya Pharmacies in search of counterfeit steroids



PATTAYA: -- The DSI (Department of Special Investigations), in association with the Australian Embassy in Bangkok, conducted raids on seven Pharmacies in Pattaya on Thursday in search of counterfeit steroids.

The Australian Embassy contacted the DSI following issues with counterfeit steroids being exported to Australia from Thailand and they were seeking assistance from the Police Division to stop this illegal trade. It was confirmed that the steroids were being shipped from Pattaya and therefore the raids were organized.

Over 60 Police Officers from the DSI took part in the raids which resulted in the seizure of steroids, sex enhancement medication and other controlled drugs which were not permitted to be sold.

The sex enhancers are obviously only by-catch.

Hypocritical, as they could raid so many pharmacies, lock up street vendors.

Lot of work to do.

Personally I don't care whether they sell that stuff to adults.

Everyone makes his own fortune.

Why ? I thought that most modern studies were showing that they are not particularly harmful so, unless people take them to cheat in sports why do you think they should be banned.

Modern sports are rife with steroid abuse. I have been in Thailand on and off for the past 11 years. The gyms here are are full normal people who are "on the juice". I personally know of one Pharmacy in Pattaya that has a steady stream of huge individuals buying steroids and human growth hormone.

They get handed the medical brochures and get to pick what they want and the dosage. This is openly done at the counter.

What I did notice was that in the 6 to 7 times I have been in there it was mostly (huge) Australians that were buying.

Why was I in there ? Because, I learned the hard way that it is best to buy "legit" over the counter medication your self rather than have some Dud local doctor charge you 1500 baht for 3 medications that might be sugar for anything me and the GF have picked up here, cold, flu, aches and pains, rashes, thrush etc.

For many years now there has been a lot of debate in the press in Australia about steroid abuse in sport.

Why, they never figured out where this stuff was coming from before surprises me.

If you can't recognise it when they walk past you on the street, then you mistakenly believe all Rugby Union, Rugby league and Aussie rules football players are "really big blokes".

Medical science has proven that a 6 foot tall natural athelete who works out and trains like a demon for 5 to 7 years and has 10 - 15% body fat might weigh as much as but no more than 210 lbs. Not 240 to 280 !

On personal basis, all sport for me has been ruined by cheats, none of these people are role models like those of the pre steroid era. Any opportunity to break the chain of supply is a good thing. I don't have a problem with someone who wants to just get big and in his own lunch hour think he is the ulitmate adonis. But if he/she uses it to cheat other people out of major awards and money...then that is a whole other ball game.

Same day I seen the DSI inside I purchased over 15k worth of meds from them after the DSI left.. Seems they didn't care about fakes or anything just brown envelopes.. Here is what happened I copied and pasted it because I accidentally posted it in the Chiang Mai forum: wasn't not going to post this but after I thought it through it could save lives so I am posting it... I bought a bottle of Androlic made by BD from pharmacy... It wasn't until I got home and compared them to my other empty bottles to see the bottle was sent through light green, where the original is dark green, the pills were lighter green and crumbled easily.. And the hologram was so bad you couldn't read or make it out the repeated "British Dispensary" words written several times on it and the label wasn't on straight plus the expiration date you could tell was mass printed not sequential printing, not little dots that make up the date but crisp lines.... I have nothing against but after a half hour of arguing they finally gave me back most of my money I paid, most of it not all... The package insert was not crisp lettering it was copy on didn't have same thickness paper,, they tried telling me I had the fake pills and that theirs were real, I proceeded with blood tests at that speed high res blood count and high liver enzymes on my real bottle and low res blood count and normal life enzymes on their bunk gear .... Finally the mother stepped in and gave me most my money back.... I have nothing against them but I spent 15,550 baht with them and got fake stuff..... I think only their unigen and alpha are legit and I would be careful of the rest.... I am not trying to bash them just trying to save a life that could be lost over this,,,,​sorry if this is wrong forum to post this any question feel free to pm me..and by the way there are genuine pages that are mail order in Thailand and sell to farang in Thai baht which I found much more convenient, just scares me with all the business they get how many people are putting fake drugs into their bodies thinking is legit because of positive reviews... They were upset they couldn't resell the fake androlic because I opened it already, very scary indeed, and while there some guy posted 45 bottles of the same drug, I hope he is ok if your reading this pm me please and tell me your heart still beating . yes stupidly easy to spot, funnily they will never admit to being injecting drug users

seems there must be to many ozzie tourist getting caught bringing or sending back lucrative knock offs (peds and eds)

for this matter to become international
