U.K. EV values fall off a cliff
Don't think I have anything to worry about, in my life time, or the wife's. Self explanatory, even for you ... -

Where are we going to hold the Aseannow 2025 Xmas bash?
Definitely , but the argumentative types, the pedants, and the general idiots would carry on just the same. It wouldn't take long before it all kicked off. -

Report Trump's Bold Bid: Talks with Putin and Zelensky on the Horizon
Sad that what could be a glimmer of hope triggers the sufferes to attack Trump rather than hope there will be some movement to bring this war to an end. Zelensky is in a tight spot for sure. Zelensky is going to have to give ground to Putin but I can't see this happening. The further this war gets extended the more ground the Russians will take. There are now several cities in real danger of being taken and those are Kupiansk, Sloviansk, Kramtorsk, Kostiantynika, Myrnohrad, Pokrovsk and Novpavlivka. I can't see Putin stopping until he gets the oblasts he wants. Trump is trying and no one can deny this but Zylenskyy is stubborn and Putin has the battlefield advantage. A glimmer of hope perhaps but it's just that. A glimmer. -

American $ remittances - how will the 1% tax affect yours?
It's much less trouble than that for ordinary folks. The One Big Beautiful Bill now includes a 1% tax on certain remittances from the US. Starting January 1, 2026, this new tax will apply to certain international money transfers sent from the US that are funded by physical instruments such as cash, checks or money orders. https://wise.com/us/blog/remittance-tax Does not apply to online bank transfers, debit cards, credit cards, ACH. Only applies when sender presents physical funding, in person, to the remittance provider. In short, this new tax only applies to stinky poor people who rely on cash. -

Unathorised transaction
My guess is that these are self-administered settings for the card and are only available through the app, but you can try asking the bank, maybe they can do it too. That said, a lot less can go wrong if you set these things yourself. What if they make a mistake or don’t get it right? Are you really going to try to hold them responsible later by saying they set it up incorrectly? Good luck holding them accountable if there’s a problem because of incorrect card settings. And what if you have the limits set low and suddenly need to increase them temporarily for a larger transaction? Back to the bank? Not exactly convenient. -

US banks refuse Trump's business
He is standing up for his rich friends and donors, those sucking up his behind, but foremost for himself and his offspring. He would have to try hard to care less about "ordinary Americans", especially poor ones. And that includes you, Yagoda.
