Hope so, as it's my fav weekend of all year. Esp luv the parade through town an Sat morning ending at the big park on SW moat corner. Dozens of flowered floats and pretties a'plenty. Marching bands, blocked streets full of food vendors (try the fried grasshoppers), orchid sales, competition between growers for nicest bromeliad...a list of goodies too long to mention.

C u there.

We went on the Monday after the show had finished and they were packing up to go home. Amazed at some of the deals they were offering just so they did not have to take the plants back.

Sounds a bit "cheap charlie ish" but it was not an intentional stop, we were coming back from CM Ram hospital and decided to stop and take a look, we really had no intention of buying anything but the prices were to good to resist

If anyone knows of a schedule of the events, could they please post the link here. TAT had a notice saying the parade was on Sunday rather than the Saturday it has always been. I suspect it was written by the same people who dream up the 90 report regulations but it would be nice to have confirmation that they are talking nonsense as usual.

I found it (thanks to Tywais) http://www.chiangmai-alacarte.com/chiang-mai-flower-festival-2016. The parade is on Saturday as usual

Isn't that the bottom of Loi Kroh by the moat?

I have always considered the top of it to be up by the

Down Under pup area or if you wish the Iron Bridge.

Not called the "Down Under pup" for nothing wink.png

Surely you walk down to the river and not up to the river wink.png

Only if you are going south. If you need to travel north to reach it, it's up to the river.

It's reversed if you live in Australia.

You can not get to the river traveling east or west.

Can anyone please tell me if traffic will be really slow because of the Flower Show if travelling from Nimman/CMU area to the airport this Sunday afternoon?

If you can use the (Air Force) Wing 41 Road you should be fine; if you need to go through town itself that could be a bit jammed up.

Many thanks, Ovenman. Yes, I believe I know which road you mean. It runs parallel to the runway ;-) cheers!

Went through town last night, past Tapae Gate, very poor set up compared with last year, seems like they've cut back on spending this year.
