Government to ask CDC to add a new chapter on reforms to the charter draft

BANGKOK: -- The government will ask the Constitution Drafting Committee to add a new chapter regarding all the reforms in the charter draft instead of hiding them in the provisional chapter, said Deputy Prime Minister Wisanu Kruea-ngarm on Sunday.

The deputy prime minister pointed out that putting the sections about reforms in the provisional chapter would give a wrong impression that the proposed reforms are for short term whereas they are for long term and meant to be sustainable.

Dr Wisanu said that he didn’t want to make comments on the charter draft too often even personal comments because it would be misunderstood that his comments reflected the government’s views.

However, he disclosed that all the ministries were to submit their points of view or recommendations about the charter draft to the cabinet on Tuesday after which the government would pass them on to the CDC for consideration.

But as far as the government is concerned, the deputy prime minister said the government would ask the CDC to add a new chapter regarding reforms to the charter draft instead of separating them in different sections and in the provisional chapter. This approach is also agreed upon by the National Reform Steering Assembly, he added.

Because of a host of comments about the charter draft mostly from people who barely read the draft, Dr Wisanu said that the CDC should make more clarifications in the form of statements instead of on daily basis.

There will be 5 points to the reform of the education sector.

1. We will ensure sustainable reform.

2.we will form a new committee.

3.we will have another comittee to watch over the first committee.

4.our vision for the future is to have a better education for all thai people.

5.everyone will work hard to realise our efforts of above reform.

HEALTH REFORM.

Same as above.

AIRLINES REFORM.

Same as above.

POLICE REFORM.

Same as above.

ARMY REFORM.

No need for reform .the epitomy of perfection that we can all aspire to.

This constitution will be the first in history that comes with Cliff's Notes.

And now if the CDC reorganizes the charter as per Prayut's government, I expect it will go beyond 300 articles. In contrast:

"[CDC spokesman Chatchai Na Chiang Mai] affirmed that the new charter will not have more than 300 articles in it....the new charter must not be very long and contain too many details upon its completion." 2016-01-07
