Havent been to Chiang Rai yet, thought I check it out soon

what are my best options on getting there? does not have to be the cheapest or the most expensive:)

Safety would be nice, I heard the road is a bit dangerous and the mini vans go warp speed on them..

what you guys think?

I recently took the GreenBus to Mae Sai, depart about 8am. The bus stopped in CR for 15 mins. Highly recommended to grab the VIP option: fast, safe, inexpensive, food and drink given on bus, quiet...far better than self driving. Easy to get tix, to and fro from Arcade Bus Station, even weeks in advance. Round trip to MaeSai, about 700 baht.

Another vote for the Green bus .Last time i used them it was cheaper if you took their first departure ,around 6 am from Chiang Mai Arcade Bus station .There are places there to park your motorcycle under cover at B10 for 24 hours .
