Hi folks,

Having come to thailand for the past 10 years mostly only staying for 3-4 months, except for building my house, i am amazed that there are not more car trailers here, can some one shed some light why, i was going to sell my 65 bettle and buy a late model SUV, but i still have to bring more supplies home so trying to find out if i can buy a trailer do i need some other license other than my thai car license , or am i better to just buy a dual cab ute?? hey thanks for the good advice in advance.

I was told it does take a different license....Especially for farang as it potentially could be used for commercial purposes.....Undoubtably some are hauling regardless....

Pop into your local DLT office and ask them, from the horses mouth is always bestwink.png

Good advice. I think that there are tax implication (bit like adding a 'carryboy' to your truck.

there are a few companies importing and manufacturing trailers.

the fact that Thailand was one of the top pickup owning nations also made the need for trailers somewhat less important than in other places....

I think most people just hitch up and hope for the best...i suspect the average BIB is no better informed thsn you or I.

I do seem to remember hearing that a trailer needs to be registered in the same way as a car (blue book etc)
