My retirement extension is due next week. I am hoping that someone who has recently undertaken the same can confirm what documents Nonthaburi required. Nonthaburi is known for 'doing it way they want it'. E.g., no 90 day online reporting really irks me.

I will take:

TM7

Letter from bank showing seasoned 800k, hopefully dated the day before I go to Nonthaburi;

On the day of application I will deposit 100 baht into the account so I can produce evidence that the money is still there (ATM updated bank book);

Passport;

Copies of Passport including pages showing Non-O.

Last year I did not require proof of residence. Should I take TM30 (?) and a copy of the house book? Any other documents my wife must sign?

I will need to do this on my own this year as my wife is tending to her Mum who is undergoing cancer chemo. My Thai is insufficient to discuss any problems in detail.

TIA

I think JAS21 uses Nonthaburi, worth dropping him a PM to see what he needed last time.

^ Thanks. I received a PM from another member who recently renewed his extension. The IO wanted TM30, signed copy of wife's ID, house book and the letter from the bank had to be dated the day of application. Last year I used a letter dated the day before I applied and deposited a 100 baht into the account on the day and that receipt was acceptable. So this looks like it may have changed. This makes the whole thing more difficult sad.png

This may have no bearing on this topic but on my last 90 day report, I did notice that the entire staff had changed except for the receptionist at the main door.

My last report was almost 90 days ago with my next one on 14 Mar and my retirement visa extension after the Water Festival so it could get interesting. I am divorced now here in Thailand with Thai divorce papers so my girlfriend will be a key witness to my situation.

Is your wife the "house master" of the residence where you are staying and was it she who was asked for the TM.30?

When the entire staff of an immigration office is changed it makes you wonder whether – what shall I call it – something out of the ordinary has happened. I feel sorry for the people using the immigration office where these officials are being transferred to, hopefully not all to the same office.

When I did my last 90 day report on 25 Jan the people I usually deal with were still the same as a year ago. The guy who takes your 90 day report, the lady who checks it and the man who does extensions (the person with an eye patch) were in residence so maybe you just happened to go on a day when these people were off.

I was only quoting from the PM I received. I am going to Nonthaburi with TM30, copy of ID card and house book + copy all signed in case I am asked. I will report back here after I have been.

Yesterday afternoon I went to Immigration for my retirement extension. The first paperwork the IO asked for was TM30 and copies of owners ID etc etc. He said that for every extension application this paperwork is now necessary to produce before they will consider the extension.

Just to confirm my previous the staff largely have not changed. The head IO was not there and her place was taken by a polite man.

I have always gone to Nonthaburi Immigration first thing in the morning and it is usually a crush plus you have to get past St Peters School and all it's traffic early in the day. Yesterday I went at in the afternoon after having first been to the bank for the letter (charge 200 baht!!!). It was easy to get to and there were hardly any people at Immigration. Service was quite quick and polite.

I'm lucky enough to live about 5 minutes motorcycle drive away from the Nonthaburi Immigration office, so the commute is a non-issue I always get the bank letter the same day (yeah..its usually 200thb for me at SCB) and a fresh 100thb transaction to get a fresh line printed in the book. I've been there a dozen times in the last year (as recently as just last week for a final stamp after the 30 day wait for a 1 year marriage extension of stay). The staff has largely been the exact same with only minor temporary changes. I've never done a TM30 (rather my wife hasn't). About 4 months ago I needed a single re-entry permit and I was asked for it...I was polite but whined a bit and the IO said ok this once but I would need it in the future. I actually forgot about it after that, but I wasn't asked again for it during the entire process of getting another yearly extension of stay for marriage, and another re-entry permit (multi). I do have a yellow book but I don't know that that really helps with that.

What date is required on the TM30? I live with my girlfriend so I don't have a yellow book. I have heard that it is not required but as the man says, Nonthaburi does things their way. I am getting my income letter from the embassy at the end of the month for extending my visa after the water festival. I wonder what other surprises are in store for me.

I had a PM from a member stating that the first thing he was asked for was a TM30. This was the case with me yesterday also. I handed the IO the Extension Application and he looked at the paperwork and then asked where is the TM30 and the accompanying documentation. I then gave it to him and when he was satisfied that all was in order he then proceeded to look at the Extension Application.

I believe the law says that the Home owner or House Master must lodge a TM30 within 24 hours of an alien taking up residence although this can be lodged at the local police station if your Immigration Office is too far away. My wife just dated the TM30 with yesterdays date.
