Interesting website below where you can do come comparisons between the U.S. and other countries on certain issues. Pick the country you want to compare to the U.S. I included a few snapshots below comparing Thailand, UK, and Germany.

I've never bought into some of these numbers such as Thai unemployment. What is the status of all of these people who have some small business attached to their home in every alley I go through? They can't be making much money. Is that "employed?"

Those graphs don't show "take home pay" which would have to figure the taxes people pay in various countries. What about the cost of consumer items, affected by taxes? How much will the take home pay buy? Taxes in Thailand and in the US are low compared to most of Europe. Consumer items are cheapest in the US, by far.

Since this is Thailand, it didn't show road deaths, just murders. Add the two up and gimme a number.

I'm thinking about buying a new Toyota Camry for a runabout. I have a Ford F150 Supercrew but I'd like to have a runabout. Here's one I can buy, out the door today, with no sales (VAT) or other taxes. This price is it, all in. It's USD $19,243/ 679,000 baht, all in. Drive it away. It's made in the USA, BTW. LINK

Cheers
