Could anyone give me the latest update of what the situation is with getting a driving license? I know in Phuket one has to wait for 2 months to take an exam. In Samui, is it in the same day?

Same day, be there 9AM.

Medical certificate, copy passport, copy visa, copy entry stamp, residence certificate.

Be properly dressed, no shorts.

You can probably get a temporary license, if they have not changed recently.

Good news is that temporary license is valid for two years now.

They issue licences only on Mondays Wednesday and Fridays ... next Monday is a Buddha holiday...

Yes, start over again, but as long as you don't have 1yrs visa you will only get a chance temporary one.

Do you mean 2-year driving license? That's what I want. But don't all farangs, and maybe thai also, get a 2-years driving license first?
