PATTAYA: -- Late on Sunday Night reports of a fire came into the Pattaya Fire Rescue Unit who sent 6 fire trucks to a convenience store in North Pattaya.

The fire had taken hold of a Family Mart Store in Naklua, just before 10.30pm, and according to witnesses at the scene, had started at a refrigeration unit located at the rear of the store.

Smoke began to come from the unit, which soon turned to flames, and despite efforts to extinguish the fire, it became too dangerous for staff and customers who were forced to retreat and wait for firefighters to arrive.

That appears to be the second recent Pattaya fire blamed on AC/refrigeration units.

The Pattaya fire brigade have been busy and it seems they are doing a good job.

Six fire engines to a Family Mart store? Bit of an overkill.

I bet the rats that were nesting in the back of the fridge were mightily pissed off. coffee1.gif

If I were a Fire Investigator I would be taking a close look at any CE mark on the refrigeration unit...
