Samsung Tab 10.1" screen broken - where to fix?

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have a pretty new Samsung tab but screen (glass is) is broken, digitizer seems to work as I can use tab normally.

Is it possible to fix just the screen or glass? Where in Chiang Mai and how much it will cost?

Thank you in advance for your valuable info wink.png

Cheers

I had a cracked screen on my Galaxy S4 phone and had it repaired at one of the myriad phone booths/shops at KSK on the 3rd floor near the escalators. Cost 1500 baht which as much cheaper than the quotes I received at Maya Mall.

Not sure if they do tablets too but it's worth an ask. biggrin.pngbiggrin.png

Before committing to use one of the independent shops, you might want to check with the Samsung service center near the North Gate. That will give you an idea of the upper bounds of what it should cost, and you might find that their price is not as high as one might expect from an authorized service center. They usually will give price estimates right on the spot and sometimes repair units the same day that they receive them.

Yes, right on all accounts.

I just had my cracked iPad screen replaced at one of the repair shops on the second floor of Pantip- 2500bt and it works perfectly.

You might also find that the price from an authorised service centre is ridiculously high!!! I paid 1500 baht at KSK compared to the price to get it done by Samsung in Australia which was 5500 baht!!!

I think that you are agruing just for the sake of arguing. This isn't Australia.

It could be that their price is high for that repair, but their cost estimates are free and unless the place is uncharacteristically crowded you'll probably get an answer within a few minutes of arriving there. Nothing to lose. They replaced a faulty USB port on my tablet for 1400 baht and the did the repair on the spot; I don't think that I was in the place for more than an hour.

Nothing to lose, you can still take it elsewhere after getting the estimate. They replaced a faulty USB port on my tablet for 1400 baht and they did the repair on the spot. I don't think that I was in the place for more than an hour, and at the end of that hour my tablet was fully functional again.

Samsung Service Center - one at the Prom too. not expensive at all. for some things they don't even charge you. great service.

Stupid to compare prices like that. How do you get through the day? Are you ridiculously high?
