How do you have a 'report' that comes up with this conclusion? What did they investigate exactly, that guys go overseas and have sex for money? Did we need a report for that? Somehow this conclusion has manifested itself into some kind of law?

Absolutely zero chance of anything happening. A campaigning group says it should be so ... but it just won't, will it

Nothing to see here

Guys don't pay for prostitutes, because prostitution is illegal.

Mostly they strike up a friendship in a bar or somewhere and

then go back to their rooms, apartments etc, watch TV, maybe

eat and drink and afterwards have sex. A little gift afterwards

of some baht will make the lady happy and maybe you will

meet up again, or just date another girl.

Pay for a prostitute........no way!!!

They've been pushing for such laws in the USA for quite some time now. Fortunately, they've only managed to pass laws to punish pedophiles. I'm on board with those laws, but consensual sex between adults should be off limits for government meddlers.

They'd have to build a lot of jails, particularly if the law was made retrospective.laugh.png

Yet more evidence the empire on which the sun never sets has gone into the sunset. Britons actually employ people to come up with this idiocy?facepalm.gif

Don't some countries already have such a law? I can't imagine it's very easy to enforce. Has anyone been prosecuted under it?

Yes Sweden has such a law.

And yes there have been many prosecutions under this law.

Yes, well Sweden is on a fast track to the 7th century and before too long it's laws will be Shariah only.

So your statement doesn't surprise me!

That's interesting. What evidence was used to convict them?

The very heart of the issue here, is that fun and games should be made illegal. Why allow the population to have fun? It is not something that is encouraged in the UK, or the US anymore. So, if anyone is having fun, make them pay!

For any government to even attempt to go after it's citizens for having sex overseas, is ludicrous and these ideas and proposals come from the minds of lunatics, and small men who want to appear to be puritanical, but in reality are anything but. As long as the person one hires is of legal age, and the sex is consensual, leave them alone! Don't these government have other issues that are more important and pressing to consider?

To my mind, this appears to be the very zenith of pettiness, on the part of a government.

Good thinking. Let's legalise sex, gambling and prostitution. They tax all the legal stuff already and would simplify the tax system immensely. I'll vote for that, though I would be celibate and never go to the horse races, I'd just have a beer with buddies and spare the tuk tuks the job of getting me about town.

How wil they know you bought sex ?

They will want to look through all your holiday receipts.

I have been getting receipts from hookers for years. I use them as tax deductions. I declare it as psychotherapy. I tell the tax man if I did not have that outlet, I would not be able to be a productive member or society. If only the UK, the US and some of the other extremely anal and petty nations who attempt to criminalize sex realized that for the most part, sex makes society healthier, more vital, and far less criminal. My opinion anyway, but my guess is there is alot of evidence to back it up. As long as it is consensual, and between two adults, just leave us alone.

how could they prove transaction was for sex ? you could say you are simply paying her for her companionship, anything else being purely

voluntary,

such laws are only wanted by a small number of largely middle eastern death cult followers particularly the denominations that could

be classed as puritanical protestant who basically want everybody to crawl on the floor in obedience to their imaginary friend who apparently

lives in another dimension, who in turn seems to be obsessed with sex ?

It wouldn't matter so much if the law was regularly enforced. Once such a law is on the books, it can be enforced whenever they wish, against whomever they wish. This law, that law, another law... Doesn't matter. It's important to have as many laws as possible in western countries, that can be enforced whenever a government wishes, against whomever a government wishes. That's really what matters. Not ethics, or morality, or right or wrong. Just the ability to harass and arrest, whenever the whim occurs, for whatever reason.

And to the extent that might be true, it would appear such a law would be easily passed, in whatever country.

After hackers attacked an adult dating website. It sporned hundreds of similar sites. If consenting adults want it, it's there and its free for either sex. Which means the law becomes pointless and unenforcible. The social sex industry is assisted by the internet. It shows how much politicians are behind the times, where prostitution is in decline. Yes a large number of women want their 40 shades of grey and want to enjoy sex just as much as men.

Everyone is saying such a law exists in Norway or Sweden. Can someone who is familiar with these laws explain how they enforce them? Unless it's a family or friend who suspects them who follows them or they hire a private detective I doubt they can.
