Plenty of time to think about my pension and savings later on. Meanwhile, all my friends at home are dead jealous of me. Do people really tell themselves this? Anyway, I'll say this much: when I taught English I was able to put away $1,000 or more per month, which is more than I can say for most of my friends in USA.
