Transformer Goes Booooommmm

Featured Replies

Within the past minute a transformer just blew biggg time... somewhere by the Rama IX Bridge It was a very big boom

Very big transformer that makes a very big boom ? Maybe one very toasted squirrel too !!

Again! Are your lights out? Do let us know how long the repari takes this time. Squirrel or tree snake?

Hate it when that happens. One went off outside the Riverside one night, frightened the bleeding life out of everyone!

No my lights are all ok and on

Sounded like it was just across the bridge, but sound direction can be misleading.

Typical Thailand (sorry for the quote out of context ;) )

Lost count of number of times I have heard it happen up Suthep way.

Not so many Blackouts in recent times.

Very disturbing a it once caused me to be stuck in the lift in my condo.

It seems to happen a lot here, I can't remember ever seeing or hearing of one going back home (but I'm sure they did, just that I wasn't aware). Is there a reason for them going so often?

It's easy to assume poor quality of materials or workmanship, but they seem to go often enough to be very a very expensive part of the supply company meaning quality of both would be a little better regulated.

Be the change that you wish to see in the world.

It's just the fuse blowing

I saw one blow in Manila, and it literally blew burning oil onto properties setting them well alight. Dangerous beasts when they decide not to play anymore.

This big one next to me at the condo, blew a good one a couple years back. A flaming , sparking shooting arc right out over the street. Traffic was coming along northbound and when it went, some poor guy on a moto was swerving left and right like trying to avoid a terrorist rocket attack. Was pretty spectacular. I imagine he slithered home for a change of underwear.

This happens a lot to you.. What are you doing that upsets transformers that much?? wink.png

Flying his kite?
