PM Prayut urges youth to develop thinking process and study science, and mathematics

For once most posters seem to agree with the PM that the youth should develop their thinking process. Now if only the curriculum and especially the teachers would also give a push in the right direction ... ...

He should lead by example, but with his thinking ability, there's not much of an example, but hey, at least he knows that most of the country is as dumb as he is, so aren't likely to question him.

just don't post your conclusions on Facebook.

If the students develop thinking processes the junta is in real trouble.

Sooo, the key point is, they need to improve the education system. Der, yeah!

The edict from on high...blame the students, with nothing concrete to show for action plans on how to improve the ancient backward memory based "learning" methods...I call the parot method.

No fff-ing clue.

What hypocrisy. How about the Thai adults start thinking more, out of the box so to speak.

Gimme a break. They haven't yet learned to think inside the box....so to speak !

They should also urge students (young and pretty ones) to protect themselves from perverted BIBs who try to take photos of their undies while they are shopping.

These guys sit around a table, to discuss the numbers. One guy say 90 %, one guy says 60 % , two guys say 40 and 55 %, one guy says 70 %.

They throw all the numbers in a bowl. They drink 10 beers, and put the bowl on one of the guys heads; and tell him to walk around the room three

times. After the third time around, the paper remaining , is the % that they use for all comments.

'The Prime Minister has urged Thai youth to start thinking more ...' A definite improvement, especially if it gained momentum and had the average Thai putting more thought into what they say, and what they do.

'The PM went on to say that ... at least 70% of the content of their examination papers must come from what they can learn outside classroom.' Presumably Karaoke. Slot machine expertise. (Un)social media. Online games ...

I wonder if it had anything to do with the Thai Army soldier who could not read the sign on the M-60 Claymore mine that read "This side face outwardclap2.gif ."

Such hypocrisy is not limited to Thai adults. I would be happy if more adults could think logically inside the box. Alas, classic logic is no longer included in the high school curriculum in most countries as the corporations attempt to dumb down the populace.

There is no point in the PM trying to incite Thai students to think more. The only way for things to improve in education is to have a better quality of teachers and a better method of teaching. Sitting and writing down what you think the teacher said, with no opportunity for feedback, an a class of 40, 50 or 60 children with no interest is no way to get motivated students.

"The Prime Minister has urged Thai youth to start thinking more...."

Something MUST have been lost in translation.

Yes, the word "more" is superfluous.

Actually, the whole premise that Uncle Too wishes Thai youth to start thinking more is ridiculous as the worst enemy of an unelected (would have liked to use another word but am not allowed) regime are thinking citizens. Hence the need for control of social media, intimidation of journalists, attitude adjustment sessions etc.

I think what he meant was:

"The Prime Minister has urged Thai youth to start thinking more like he wants them to think"
