how long does it take to drive from krabi to Surat thani

If we stay at Ao nang beach and then want to drive to krabi how long would it take? How much would one expect to pay to a taxi for this service?

Also, how often do trains go north to PKK from surat thani? How long is this journey on the train?

The answer to the title of this thread is 2 1/2 hrs.

between 2 and 2 1/2 hours, dual lane all the way apart from the last section into Krabi, will depend on the day you do it as weekends are usually pretty busy.
