A friend of mine wanted the ship a battery for hover board to Europe. UPS accepted the parcel and the payment. A few days later they call him saying that the battery was not allowed on the plane and he can come and pick it up from the UPS office and there will be no refund?

My question is that why dont they check before accepting the battery if its acceptable or not and why is there no refund?

Perhaps the staff accepting the parcel didnt do their job properly in asking whats in the parcel etc and it was stopped by the machines prior to loading on the aircraft.

But, as suggested, ask the company directly.
