CDC joins community organization councils in promoting understanding of new draft charter

Kitti Cheevasittiyanon

BANGKOK, 6 March 2016 (NNT) - The Constitution Drafting Commission has joined members of community organization councils from various provinces to promote a correct understanding of the draft charter.

The CDC, on Saturday, was joined by Phetchaburi Governor Sanit Khaosa-ard and some 200 members of the Council of Western Community Organizations and the Tambon community organization councils from Phetchaburi, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Samut Sakhon, Samut Songkhram, Ratchaburi, Kanchanaburi, and Nakhon Pathom in a seminar to discuss the proposed charter.

At the seminar held at the Phetchaburi Rajabhat University, participants were encouraged to participate fully in sharing their opinions about the draft Constitution — a process that is one of the responsibilities of the subcommittee in charge of the collection and the summary of public opinion for the CDC.

Suggestions heard have been found to be useful adjustments to the draft charter as they contain principles that are widely and internationally accepted.

Its hoped the opinions collected will make the new charter well suited to solving the country's problems while promoting national reconciliation, culture, tradition and the way of life of Thai people.

Another meat-free hamburger from NNT.

A meeting was held. Many important people attended. Good ideas were expressed. The organizers were satisfied. And the sun sank in the west, thus ending another productive day.

Great - I look forward to amending draft Articles placing the military under elected civilian control and pledging its allegance to the people's constitution.
