BANGKOK: -- Former close aide to privy council president General Prem Tinsulanonda today (Monday) petitioned the ombudsman’s office asking for a probe of the charges leveled against him by the National Police Office.

Accompanied by a team of legal advisors led by Mr Nitithorn Lumlua, Admiral Prajun Tampratheep, a member of the National Reform Steering Assembly, submitted the petition to Mr Thawin Inthachamnong, deputy secretary-general of the ombudsman’s office.

Mr Nitithorn said that he had raised three issues pertaining to the defamation charge and the charge of violating the computer crime law filed against Admiral Prajun by the National Police Office.

One issue concerns an unnamed army general alleged of involvement in the trading of police positions. Mr Nitithorn pointed out that it was not known who the general was because there was no mentioning at all about his identity or his position which could trace to his identity.

Another issue is about an unnamed admiral who was alleged to have posted the allegedly defamatory remark in the social media, the lawyer noted that it was not khown who the admiral was.

Before filing defamation charges against any individuals, he suggested that the police should have substantial evidences to show who is the victim and who is the alleged perpetrator.

Admiral Prajun, meanwhile, maintained that he had no grudges whatsoever with Deputy Prime Minister Prawit Wongsuwan and that whistleblowing was intended to lead to police reform.

The admiral is due to report himself to the police to acknowledge the charges against him on Thursday.

It sounds like this general has an idea that they are talking about him. Yet, the police never said who. So is it a bad case of being paranoid. Or does the poor general actually have something to worry about so he jumped the gun to defend himself?

Stepping on toes............to an old and ongoing issue within not only the forces, but the public service in general....and about time these indiscretions are revealed............good luck to the admiral, a person who definitely commands respect

not what it appears to be....

Pls explain? Not baiting, just curious. Personally I think this whole issue has proven one thing. Don't use line for important messages, try emailing instead. The only thing I use line for is to play line rangers and cookie run. Oh well, we live and learn. Oh and another thing why has every thread have a Mulder and Scully conspiracy theory? Creative imaginations on overtime lately.

" It sounds like this general has an idea that they are talking about him. " Admiral Prajun is generally regarded as a sailor not a soldier.

Admiral Prajun Tamprateep's whistle blowing revealed that an unidentified general was involved in the "sale" of police positions. This upset the cops who retaliated by charging him with nonsense charges.
