BANGKOK: -- Pol Col Sihanart Prayoonrat was removed as secretary-general of Anti-Money Laundering Office to become an advisor of the office effective as of March 13.

The police colonel has served as AMLO secretary-general for many years and no explanation was given about his sudden removal by an order of the cabinet on Tuesday.

The cabinet also approved the appointment of seven new board members of Thai Health Promotion Foundation. They are Mr Veeraphan Supanchaimart, Mr Kamnuan Oengchusak, Mrs Suwannee Kammun, Mr Wichet Pichairat, Associate Professor Panya Khaimook, Mr Suppasit Kumpraphan and Mr SamphanSilapnart.

Their appointment has become effective as of March 8.
