7 days extension

Featured Replies

Hello,

I got already 30 days extension of my SETV. My extension finish on 9th of April.

Is it possible to get another 7 days on top of that? I would like to go back home around 15th of April.

You can apply.

You may or may not be given 7 days to pack and leave but such requests are often granted.

You can apply for a 7 day extension, pay the 1900 baht fee and be given 7 days to leave the country.

Note that this is not a regular extension! On a regular extension, the time is added to your original permission to stay date. This is a denial of an extension, with 7 days to leave the country from the date you apply. Thus, you should be planning to be at the immigration office first thing on April 9th. As an alternative, if you have few visa exempt entries and qualify, perhaps you could consider a border hop.

He can go before the 9th, it doesn't have to be on the last day, it would actually be better in case they deny him which is doubtful

The 7 days start from the end of your current permission to stay, not on the day you apply so if he went on say the 7th he would be given until the 16th to leave (7 days)

OP I did the same as you last month, no problems getting the 7 days

There is no 7 day extension available. However, if you go to immigration and apply for another extension of stay (any amount of days) it will be declined and they will almost certainly give you 7 days to leave the country. Your passport will be stamped confirming the extension of stay was denied, but that you have 7 days to leave.

Not at all offices. Last week a friend of mine went 3 days before the end of their permit to stay and was given 7 days from the day they applied, so effectively only got an extra 4 days. It's not an extension of stay so I assume the IO doesn't need to apply it from the end of the current stay.

I would say either the I/O didn't know the rules or misread the date

It's 7 days not 4, I went the day before my permission to stay ended and received the 7 days from the next day

There is no 4 days to leave the countryrule as far as I know

As elviajero and I have both posted, this is not an extension of stay. Your request for an extension has been denied and you are given (at the option of the IO, but rarely denied) 7 days to leave the country from the moment the IO tells you you must leave.
