BANGKOK, 15 March 2016 (NNT) - The new Indian Ambassador to Thailand, His Excellency Bhagwant Singh Bishno, met with Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha at the Government House to strengthen diplomatic relations between the two nations.

Deputy Government Spokesperson Maj Gen Weerachon Sukhontapatipak revealed that Gen Prayut expressed Thailand’s readiness to strengthen relations with India in every capacity.

These include technological cooperation, Islamic education for Thai students, as well as medical, beauty and wellness tourism.

The Prime Minister also praised his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi for his investment schemes to stimulate economic growth, namely 'Make in India,' 'Delhi Mumbai Economic Corridor,' and 'Smart Cities.'

Gen Prayut spoke with the Indian ambassador about Special Economic Zones and described their investment benefits, in the hopes that Indian investors will be drawn to these opportunities.

Both countries are also planning to promote closer military ties and anti-terrorism efforts. Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Gen Prawit Wongsuwan and Deputy Prime Minister Somkid Jatusripitak are scheduled to visit India to officially establish cooperation in the areas of defense and trade late this month.

In Thailand you can have your kairk and eat it too.

India-Bangladesh-Burma-Thailand can make a biggest economic corridor if they work together connecting highways. But China would think it is a biggest threat to their economy.

So expect a future wave of Indian tourists. Maybe they can put a red dot on the front of the big white tourist busses so they dont get confused and hop on the wrong bus...

as you know, India has had a profound influence on the Siamese and other S.E.Asians for a lot longer than the Europeans.

Sure from way way back. Many are Thai citizens and own a boatload of property here......An old Thai saying. If you see a cobra in the road or an Indian, run over the Indian......

This story is Chinese created against Indians after their influence here for 1000's of year religious connections. That's how all Chinese became Thais, and Indians are still Indians even though they are living here for 100's of years.

Before complaining about Indians, people should think from where this Buddhist civilization came and why Thailand is culturally dominating other countries ?

Anyhow very soon Indians don't have to come here for economic reasons, soon it will over take all economies in the world.
