I vowed never to go back…but I did

A year ago I ate at a popular chain steak restaurant…The meal was below average and I vowed I wouldn’t return

Last night, I returned. Lured by a steak hungry friend and a 139baht special for Chicken steak, Premium pork Sausage, Salad and garlic bread, with a bowl of creamy bacon and mushroom and pasta.

What looked good on paper did not translate to the taste buds.

The pasta was inedible, salad greens (lettuce) not fresh, chicken steak was fatty and the bread like chewy flavoured cardboard

On the upside, the Premium pork sausage was delicious

I have vowed never to return…

Well whos a silly boy, if you vowed not to return you should have stuck to it.

I know i know. Most likely I will be making the same complaint in another year tongue.png

What did your friend get and how was it?

She got the exact same as me. She picked out the mushroom and bacon from the pasta and ate that. Didn't eat the skin from the chicken steak, but ate half the chicken itself, tried a small piece of the brad and didn't like it; she liked the lettuce with mayonnaise and got upset with me when I grabbed half her sausage. Today she messaged her tummy hurts

Be happy you didn't get the sh..., session on the bowl.

Yep, beware the salad!

Was offered barbecued rat for breakfast

on my first Isaan trip...mmmm looked good.

How did it taste?

It tastes like I remember rabbit tasting, when I was a child.

I don't go for the "all in" way it has been presented to me in Thailand.

What do you expect for 139 Baht ?

Something edible... i don't think that is too much to ask for

u kind of got what u paid for :-)

To be fair to the OP, this price is reduced from 210 (or something like that).

Yes , you get what you pay for. I tried it the other day. Made a change from Pad Grapao.

No, it's not the best spaghetti, not the best steak or salad but it was fast, satisfied my hunger.

Will I go back? Maybe if I am in a hurry, but I'd try one of the beef steaks.

Yeah, I expect it to be edible. I don't expect gourmet cuts of any type.

As things would have it... Last night I went to a different Steak place.. it was 149 baht.

In comparison with the other this was sensational value!

I met the same friend at 7.30pm and there were ten groups waiting outside to be seated.

Food was very above average for the price and type of place

Pork Steak was juicy and flavorsome.

Pork Sausage excellent

Fried bread better than any of the Sizzler or the other place

Baked potato only 10 baht extra

Coleslaw was okay...though not my thing

My friend had the fish and some type of minced steak patty.

It was Eat AM Are at Victory Monument, in Century mall. (they might have 3 separate locations at Victory Monument)
