So, MHS to Pai is about 50kms

Is just driving there on a bike from Pai a normal thing to do or a bit ropey?

Google maps says 107km and +2hr. I remember as being a 3hr drive and twisty turning up and down road.

110 km and only 2 hours !!

I can understand why so many thai people die on the roads here...sad.png

You need more than 2 hours for these 110 kilometers ;( and about 8 hours with a MTBike ...)

I did this road many times with my big truck and also on my MTBike ; and there are so many beautiful things or lanscapes view to see along the rd;

A stop at Phang Mapha for visiting the beautiful caves and before Phang Mapha at the top of the mountain;

November 17 2014 in the fog with my friend Daniel on our MTBike

Meh, thought it was closer :(

Are there gas stations along the way?

I don't think so about LPG or NGV and rares normal benzine and diesel stations .

The way I drive, I can do more than 1,000 km with my tank ( 67 liters ) on my Isuzy 3000cc , automatic gearbox so I don't have a look at the benzine or gas stations along the road when making a loop from Chiang Mai - Pai - MHS - Mae Sariang - Hot - Chiang Mai , even I go to the top of Doi Inthanon .
