Pa-sah Rao? Northern Thai?

Where I am [north central] they refer to the local language as "pah-sah rao" which almost sounds like Lao as in Laotian, but that is not it.

I do not know if that is Rao as in "We" or "Our" or a different word or meaning? Also, is that Northern or a dialect of Northern Thai?

Thanks.

In Chiang Rai they call it Kam Muang and not Kham Muang.
