I' built and refurbished decks in the past (in my home country)......

The main concern with height is how it conforms to the House ie/ you not want the deck higher or lower than the doorway or stairway used to enter and exit the deck.....

In Thailand I would try too give your deck ass much hieght as you can without taking away from the visual of your house.

I have in the past made some very low decks with short footings...

You might try during instalation to designate and area or two to put a small hinged hatch between the floor studs so you can open as needed to make easy acces under the deck as required for snakes critters and mainteance etc......

Just wondering what material / wood are you using?

Is it preasure treated or termight treated before installation....

Have you thought about using any of the new Plastic maintenance free decking materials on the market?

I have installed in USA Very Good Product easy instalation...

Not sure they have in Thailand though..

Post some pics so we can see your prodjecr area..

Good luck with your prodject...

cheers

Just adding information that CCA or ACQ treated decking timber are available from few vendors in Bangkok. Timber species are mainly SYP, Radiata and hem-fir. SYP and Radiata chemical penetration are very good and strongly recommended. Both these species can be stained and achieved good aesthetic appearance.
