geriatrickid
To all you folks reminiscing about the good old days and how bad the world is today; Please go look in the mirror. IT IS YOUR GENERATION THAT IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE STATE OF THE WORLD. YOU, YOUR FRIENDS, YOUR GENERATION, YOU YOU YOU YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Do YOU get it now? You are responsible. Your greed and your sucking the lifeblood out of society ruined it for future generations. Good job. Thanks for destroying the world.

Good job. Thanks for destroying the world. You are a little bit hard with the oldest... hey don't we have Internet and viagra now?? Young chaps like geriatrickid and me don't need viagra, and I'm sceptical about the internet It was ideas like Hire purchase and the continuance of no deposit pay for it tomorrow that fueled consumerism, Then the idea of moving production offshore to lower wage economies, Inflating the value of land and property to distort the economic value of product, minerals and Countries. Giving cheap loans to developing Countries knowing damn well they can never pay then back and are Bankrupted in the process. Then to recoup your money charging your own people and so called other developed Countries over inflated prices. To sum it up Capitalism is dead just hasnt realised it yet. Democracy has a small chance of survival. Some form of new age Communism and Religious fanaticim are increasing because of the Greed of others. Yes We are all responsible but this is not the end of the World. A new way will be found and moderation and sense will prevail. If you really think this is the end of the world remember rope is still cheap. And as for me I continue to believe We will find a better way. There is plenty of food and lots of room. Why don't We focus on solving the problems and stop finger pointing

thaihome
Imagine turning up in someone else's country, living in a ghetto, refusing to speak the language or adopt the local customs, expecting businesses and services to cater to your way of life, and not respecting the locals. Who would do a thing like that, eh? Immigrants to Europe. Immigrants from Europe to the US in the 18th, 19th, and 20th century. TH
thaihome
Absolutely! When I was a young boy, there were no divorces in our village. Women had the most important jobs, raising and educating children in the home to be polite and good citizens. All the neighborhood children played on farms, swam in the ponds and rivers, skied, ice skated, fished, hunted in our backyard's and picked apples that are four times larger than you find in the grocery stores today. There were farms in Connecticut every 2 miles and cows, crops and orchards as far as you could see. Today most are gone. Most had the same job till they retired. A middle class home could be built on an acre for $25,000. No crime to speak of and seldom saw a cop. If we did he was friendly and helpful. He was dressed in blue, not black and did not drive a tank! He carried a pistol, not a machine gun! I often think about those special days. " No crime to speak of and seldom saw a cop. If we did he was friendly and helpful. He was dressed in blue, not black " Before we get to teary eyed about police back in the good old days, lets not forget their other side, which was about protecting your privileged existence.TH
