Illegal Pattaya Beach vendors fined

PATTAYA:--Pattaya regulatory-enforcement officers swept through the central section of Pattaya Beach, fining two fruit vendors who illegally had set up shop on the beachfront footpath.

Uniformed Peace and Order Maintenance Department staffers said March 15 that vendors were selling food without permission on the beach, leaving behind waste that was contributing to the beaches rat and pest infestation.

Vendors were fined 500-2,000 baht, depending on severity. Fines were only issued after vendors had ignored up to four warnings.

And yet the beach jetski/chair mafia can sell with impunity. Guess the "new guys" were cutting in on their territory without permission. And Im NOT being sarcastic

Bet one of the lovely pattaya permanent beach vendors, grassed her up.

And the hookers only get a 100 baht fine. I guess the fines are based on quality of the product being sold.

Yes of course she is happy. They gave her a 500 bt ticket and left. She stayed and made 3000 for the day.

I agree with most ops. With all the serious crime in Pattaya why worry about the little woman selling fruit? I understand regulations are regulations but there should be priorities.
