Farang Baby Born In Thailand - Need A Visa?

Featured Replies

Does anyone know if a farang baby (both parent's non-thai) born on Thai soil needs a visa? If so, what kind? Our baby will be two to three months old before we leave Thailand but will be born here.

Both parents are here on non-immigrant type O visas

Thanks for your input

Dont need a visa, my son has been here for years without one.

I presume you will be getting the child a passport from your embassy, then all you need to leave the country is the birth certificate, make sure it is filled out correctly with both your names, you can request it in both Thai and English.

You have to show the birth certificate at the airport upon departure. Children under I think it is 15yo from memory, are exempt from the overstay fines and as long as they travel with a parent and have the birth certificate, all is ok.
