NAKHON SRI THAMMARAT:-- A group of caring kids who nursed a pet dog allegedly shot by a neighbour has touched the hearts of the Thai public.

Now the Nakhon Sri Thammarat police are involved and the shooter of the mixed breed 'Jao Diaw' is wanted for animal cruelty, reports Daily News.

The children, relatives of co-owners Nep Intharung, 71, and son Thamrong Intharung, told police that they saw the man, a neighbour named only as 'Dam' who lives 50 metres from their house, wandering about the front of his property with a gun.

A shot rang out and one of the children ran out to see Dam going back inside his house. Jao Diaw was gravely injured in the incident but the children nursed him for many hours. When there appeared hope the hound might survive they took him to a vets who did the rest.

Vets at the Pratuchai Animal Hospital said Jao Diaw had been hit by a powerful bullet that hit a leg bone and lodged in his neck. But they were able to save the dog and after injections and meds were administered he was allowed to go home with the kind children and grateful owners.

Police have ordered Dam in for questioning but so far he has refused to go to the station. They are to seek an arrest warrant from the local court on a charge of mistreatment of an animal.

You wont try it in any Western countries as the police will come and take you to the station. You will not be asked to go

Now that the owners of the dog are identified ("he was allowed to go home with the kind children and grateful owners") the local animal control can start to find out how the dog was able to get lose from the leash or how it escaped the house/garden it was kept in. Because I assume the owners are responsible people who would never just let "their" dog walk out lose without supervision.

Edit: looking at the picture of the dog the animal control should also fine the owners for neglect because the poor animal looks like shit!

You have poor communication skills, as it is completely unclear what your point is.

Thai sentimentality dressed up as compassion does not impress when cock fighting is still legal and where animal suffering is widespread. But when it's a mangy pesky dog well ' that's different' it's not. Soi dogs are a major problem and what do Thais do- they feed them and put collars on them so they will not be carted off, how is that solving the problem? If that thing has a real owner they ought to be prosecuted, look at the state of it!

Look it up in a dictionary. If you don't have one, there is one online.
