If your DAIKIN remote controller comes with a "test" button, use it. Otherwise press the Temperature UP,
Temperature DOWN and the MODE buttons all at the same time. I repeat, all 3 buttons at the same time.

You will see 00 on the remote controller. The first "0" will be blinking.

Stand facing the particular air conditioner you wanted to test.

Now press the Temperature UP button, "0" will become "A" and the air conditioner will respond with either a single
beep or double beep.

Carry on pressing the Temperature UP button and listen to the beeping sound, stop when you hear a double beep.
For example: it is now showing "C0".

Now press the MODE button, the second "0" will be blinking.
Now press the Temperature UP button, "0" will become "1" and the air conditioner will respond with either a double
beep or a continuous beep.

The continuous beep is the error code. For example "C4", it means it is a faulty liquid pipe thermistor.

Now a question, do you know a guy who checked your inverter Daikin aircon ?

I don't want to call random somchai who will know nothing about inverter and just walk to dirt my expensive wooden floor !

Thank you.

PS: I get this error: E7 Outdoor Fan motor lock, Overload

Thanks for posting those Daikin A/C error codes!! (Hopefully Daikin's build quality will make them a rarely used)

Depending on your location, I would buy and get service from a Daikin dealer - A reputable electrical shop at the very least.

Daikin dealers are not better than one of the few guys with a brain that we can find in this country.

Without looking at the error code he instantly found that the outdoor unit fan was dead.

Now trying to find one before SONGKRAN !

Do you know if there is any aircon parts shop as there are cars parts shops ?

Thanks.

Thank you, but how stupid can be someone to have closed this thread ? No chance to ask who were the Daikin technicians involved.

What I found that can be useful:

jbrain

I bought my aircons from the wholesale that supplies all the parts to the technicians, since they were by far the cheapest at that time. They carry all brands and are located 3 shop houses before Fascino pharmacy on Nua road, next to Giffarine.

Questions:

Is it the only place around Pattaya to buy aircon parts ?

Can we repair an outdoor unit fan or do we have to change it ? Buy it second hand is ok ?

My problem is not the price but availability within 2 days.

Thanks.

We just had the same problem with a Mitsu air-con, took them a week to order and install a new outdoor fan motor, it was caused by a surge in the power supply, cost for replacement being fitted was 3,000 Baht.

Thank you, but how do they know that there was a surge ? They can just guess ? Any motor car die suddenly and does not need a surge.

The surge was my diagnosis! we had a brief power cut, then the power came on and went off again about three times in quick succesion - then stayed off for about an hour, obviously they were having trouble resetting power, after that the air-con didn't work! Thankfully we only had the one air-con running at that time.

Thank you !

It usually works, you are right, but not this time !

Do you know why it usually works actually ? Weird that cutting the power helps the aircon to restart ?

I was so sure to repair it myself thanks to T-cut, but this time I lost face :-)

I get this all the time when there is a power cut or big voltage spike.

Switch off at the mains fuse for a couple of minutes. Switch back on and problem is usually fixed, if not repeat.

Works every time for me.
