Hello all,

I came here March 28 and got my usual 30 days Visa on arrival. The stamp said visa " Until April 18 ".

Can I go to the local Thai immigration on Monday April 18 to get an 7 days extension or I have to leave the 17 (one day before "Until" date) ?

Also, April 18 is back to business for Immigration (Songkran festival) ?

Thanks in advance

Assuming you have a visa exemption (there is no 30 day visa on arrival) you can go to immigration any time and get a 30 day extension for 1,900 Baht.

No need to wait until the last day your extension will run from the last day of your current permission to stay.

If you don't want to extend you can leave before midnight on the last day (18th).

Since August of 2014 it has been possible to extend a visa exempt entry for 30 days at an immigration office for a fee of 1900 baht.

I suggest you apply for the extension tomorrow or Tuesday. The 18th will be a very busy day at immigration since will be the first day they will be open after a 5 day closure.

Waiting for the OP to come back to give us the correct entry date. I think it may of been March 20th and the 8 in 28 was a typo.

Thanks for replies! I will go tomorrow get that 30 days extension at Thai immigration (7 Chaeng Wattana) and yes...my entry date was typo!

Did you have a Visa on Arrival or something else ?

If you have a VOA it will not be extended.

I'm from Canada, I got the typical 30 days (exemption?) .... I don't have the tourist visa or anything yet.

Can i extend my stay for 30 days still?
