Friends

I am from India planning to visit Bangkok, Phuket, Krabi. Want to spend 2 nights at each place.

Want to know about weather during that time. Also I will travelling solo on my own, would like to know about budget stay options and couchsurfing.

Looking forward to valuable suggestions.

Thanks

Just surf around in the forum , you will find plenty of suggesstions here, use the search function.

Since you're from India , do you carry a lot of cash with you or credit cards ? I am just curious since we had a few Indians who lost all their cash in robberies lately , (here in Pattaya) . Yes unfortunately there's plenty of thieves and scammers in this city . So try to find a room with a safe , even the safes are not safe if you can not trust the hotel staff.

I will recommend you to get some sort of travel insurance.

Anyway the weather in June is nice , a few daily rain showers can be expected , but noting to worry about.

Gulf of Thailand (East side) is going to be not so wet in June, as the west coast .... Koh Samui, Koh Phangan, Koh Toa... might be a better choice... much less rain!

Many people travel solo., so not a problem, you will meet other travelers ...

Budget accommodation 300 baht up for places usually just with fan... not too hard to find... certainly on Samui, Phangan... not so sure about Toa, but it will be low season, until end of June.

(Probably not so easy to find with booking agents)

Two nights per location, really is not enough!

By road eats up a lot of time traveling, for sure, but then too you do see some of the country at least during daylight hours...

But then too, sitting in Airports, can be as bad... unless you have good connection flight times...

It all comes down to what you like to see and do.... You can have party places or quiet relaxing places too... perhaps an idea to give us an idea of what you want..

BTW Samui, has a reasonable Indian / Nepalese population .. they do not get hassled here! They even have a cricket team... bring your bat!!! thumbsup.gif

I want to enjoy raw beauty, beaches, local food and having relaxing time among friendly community.

And love travelling by locals train and shared transport.

Best way to reach Samuai?

Thanks

Some probably would not agree, but Samui and Koh Phangan, still have some nice quiet beaches... But then some don't ask first and end up in noisy Chawang !

North end of both islands have some pretty good quiet areas... by June the south and south west beaches are very low tide... but beaches to explore.

As for getting to Samui, bus, train or plane... Bangkok airways flies into Samui, but is not cheap, Suratthani airport is cheaper, but involves a bus to ferry terminal in Donsak.. to either Samui or KP.

Bus and ferry is probably the least hassle...from anywhere you are leaving from...

I am pretty certain there are no trains from Krabi to Surat Thani...

My niece recently did that trip on a VIP bus, cost was very low... It took if remember less than six hours from Krabi to get to Samui, using Lomprayah VIP bus and ferry...

As for budget hotels, they are often not listed so harder to find online! Perhaps a member in the Krabi area can make some suggestions? If you want beach area, you will need to head to Ao Nang area ... which is about 20 kms from Krabi town... ( Krabi town is not the most exciting place to visit) The coastal area is! ...

If you want low cost places on Samui, not clear if that is where you want to go, PM me for some suggestions... wink.png (Doing the bus from Krabi, saves the hassle of getting from the train station, which is miles/ kms away from the ferry terminal. The bus goes directly to the ferry terminal... then if using Lomprayah it's only about 45 minute crossing on their high speed boat... (from Donsak to Nathon, Samui) ...

Samuijimmy ,

Thanks for your promt response.

Certainly There is no train to Krabi. From Surathani I have to take bus to move anywhere be it Phuket or Krabi.

I have only one week time so I need to skip either Karbi or Phuket from itinerary. [emoji47]

I will PM you for more specific details about Samui.

Thanks.
