You see this all over the place in pots in Thailand. We have two, and the Google translation of the Thai name comes out as 'millionaire Wilson'. (!) I finally found one in flower and it is definitely an araceae. Spathiphyllum has been suggested, but I don't think so.

It looks like a peace lily to me (spathiphyllum).

The last picture is odd - otherwise I'd have been pretty sure.

Thanks, yes a few others have suggested Spatiphyllum. Spathiphyllums seem to have multiple shoots arising, this one is definitely a single shoot plant, later forming a trunk.

was suggested.

Yes, the leaves in the last picture (more sturdy looking) look like the those in the attached website address, but the earlier pictures don't have the same leaves and are more obviously peace lilies?

Definitely the same plant in all pictures. Same leaves, same plant, I don't have any interest in transmitting false information. The first two taken in makro, Buriram, the last one in my garden.

It's a peace Lilly (Spathiphyllum,)

Ok so I'll go back and take some more fotos soon. 'Peace lilies' have several shoots emerging from the base. This one DOESN'T.

Damn it, you see these everywhere.

I think you're confusing two different plants in your 'photos.

No I'm not. I worked as a botanist and seed collector.

You are possibly getting confused with the arum lily (zantedeschia aethiopica)

The plant in photo 1&2 bears no resemblance to that in photo 3.

Of course not, the first two don't show the base of the plant. How many fotos do you need? Are you accusing me of being a dishonest f***ing idiot? I'll get some MORE images in a day or two.

Nobody accused you of being dishonest.

Anyway, it's ( pics 1&2) obviously a peace lily, 40 years as a landscape gardener in Switzerland..... Must've been nice.
