Rimmer
Sukhumvit-area Songkran revelers told to avoid tunnel site PATTAYA:--Pattaya officials warned Songkran revelers not to throw water or engage in Thai New Year frivolity around the construction site for the Central Road bypass tunnel on Sukhumvit Road. Municipal officers and police handed out flyers along Sukhumvit April 5, asking for celebrants to go to Pattaya Beach to engage in water fights, particularly on the city’s “wan lai” day, April 19. Traffic normally comes to a near standstill on Sukhumvit on wan lai day and this year, with lanes closed due to construction of the 900-million-baht tunnel, the gridlock is expected to be even worse. - See more at: http://www.pattayamail.com/news/sukhumvit-area-songkran-revelers-told-to-avoid-tunnel-site-57556#sthash.n2Csx02i.dpuf -- Pattaya Mail 2016-04-
jacko45k
It comes to a near stop on a regular Sunday morning at 9.30 am so the 19th will be bad. Expect all the roads of town to be grid locked, and many of the access routes from all directions.
joepattaya1961
This must be belated April fools joke. Traffic will be absolutely grid-locked anyway, with or without water-ballet, with or without Pattaya Klang by-pass tunnel.

SeniorNice
Doesn't look good if the tunnel will flood from a water fight before they've finished it. That might force them to rethink their plans. It's better to finish the project then charge again for renovations converting it into a waterway
joepattaya1961
Do what we do STAY HOME and paint the inside of the nuclear bunker and watch it dry for 10 days. Painted the master bathroom today.........dry in 30 minutes, but then.........it's not nuclear resistant.
