Soldiers wait outside the home of former Pheu Thai MP Watana Muangsuk on Thursday in Bangkok’s Prawet district.

BANGKOK — Soldiers remained camped today outside the residence of former Pheu Thai MP Watana Muangsook, where they waited to take him into custody for an “attitude adjustment” session.

Watana has been away from home since the military sent soldiers to take him into detention Thursday, following a statement he made on Facebook that he would vote against the junta’s draft constitution when it’s put to a referendum in August.

"PTP" and "promise" in the same sentence always brings a rye smile to my face.

Yes indeed. Just like;

There will be no coup.

I do not want to become "PM".

There will be elections in 2015.

There will be elections in 2016.

I and my family are squeaky clean...but stay the eff out of our finances all the same.

Etc, etc, etc.

Perhaps you should lay off the bottle then. ;-)

Rye - a type of whiskey

Wry - a type of smile

Happy Songkran!

Why is it that you are never involved in the many topics which reflect on the negativity of the Junta or the Constitution but the moment the letters PTP are combined you are usually the very first to post?

Are you from Wye?

....holiday first....???

...have we heard the last of the rice scam prosecutions by the way...???

....the word 'charade' comes to mind.....

"PTP" and "promise" in the same sentence always brings a rye smile to my face.

"djjamie" and "i love all things junta" always bring a sickening retching to my mouth

"PTP" and "promise" in the same sentence always brings a rye smile to my face.

Similar to "djjamie" and "reasonable intelligence"?

It's called having only one thing to say;'four legs good, two legs bad' and all that..

Get Jatuporn in there, then they can reenact the closing scene from Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid.

Whatever you think of the PTP, it is appalling that the military is going to such extremes to arrest someone for saying they would exercise their democratic right and vote no on something.

NCPO ' your under suspicious arrest'

FB......Guy's i don't have time for being arrested right now'

NCPO....'the law is the law'

FB. 'how about...uh uh monday, does that suit your agenda?'

NCPO....'fine with us....thank you so much for your cooperation'

Well you must be enjoying these arrests ( as I am )

But for different reasons.

The US said on Wednesday it was a breach of human rights , and predictably the Government spokesman said the US didn't understand.

And I think he is right as are you.

Arrests and detention is reasonable and predictable behaviour for a military government.

Totally within keeping to its principles of what it stands for.

Why I am in favour of AA and you differ.

I am sick of the US repeating itself .

Doing nothing.

While sending invites and handing out awards.

So I like seeing Thais arrested and having their freedoms violated.

It pressures the US into considering weakly Sanctions.

Maybe a few brave Thai men ( if there are any) need to step forward so this protest gathers more arrests.

I mean just being against their doctrine is enough these days.

This stale mate situation is too meek and mild .

No real progress.

Maybe until mass arrests will this situation which is really a hostage siege , will continue.

But even people like pro Junta people here have their role in stirring the pot.

Because Of them i take the time to fire off these news clips to social media.

Increasing TV s popularity and also highlighting where people spend holiday dollars might be unconscionable ?

But letting the world see the dark murky world of soldiers taking away people for opinions is enlightening .

If all of us can stop people going there

It adds up.

If it hits the media better still.

So thanks to guys like D Jamie for the inspiration .

Molly Meldrum would be proud of you

'Why' do you ask that ? rolleyes.gif

Off-topic, but I used to go drinking in Wye, a charming old pub called the 'Tickled Trout', by the river, excellent food too ... Happy Daze ! laugh.png

Given this guy's influence on the red shirts it is not so appalling. His quote will inspire the majority to not even bother to look at it and to just follow his lead in voting no! Since the full contents have not even been made public yet. He is basically forming his opinion on his boss, Than. So, the Junta may have some justification for their actions. I am not agreeing with their actions, simply offering a possible reasoning.

Regardless of what anyone thinks about attitude adjustment the hi so's always seem to be allowed to come to the police station, or in this case the army, at their own convenience. The regular folks more than likely do not have this facility afforded them & probably visited directly by the police/army & taken away in chains.

No it's not, just the cantankerous one wielding his god-like 44 powers graciously bestowed upon him by himself, as well as the mother of all amnesties.

The Boss cancelled his concert show in North Carolina for a lot less than this.

I see Olivia Newton John has a BKK concert on 10 May. I wonder if?

What does this say for military "intelligence". here is a known threat to the happiness of the (good) people, and they don't have a clue where to find him. How on earth could they be expected to stop terrorist attacks if that were a threat, when the best idea for bringing in a high profile politician is to send some soldiers to wait outside his house in a truck! Is it even the right house? maybe it is 3 houses down and he is actually at home.

Does Thailand not have a secret service to conduct surveillance operations, or are they simply as inept as the rest of the police and armed forces?

Oh, it is Songkran, they are all drinking lao khao in their home villages.

An-T*AI-Terrorism acts? Well simple: They'll just simply snatch a Myanmar or Uighar and lock them up instead of making influential high profile people lose International FACE.....................
