Living costs in Chiang Mai your opinions please

Featured Replies

Hello,

I am planning to move to Chiang Mai later this year, my first time in Asia. I am diligently researching.

An apartment in the 8-9000 baht range would work for me. I rarely drink and I'm not a bar guy. I would eat mainly Thai food, not interested in pizza or cornflakes, or peanut butter.Don't need health insurance, and would be on a retirement visa. I can live simply if needed.

Does a monthly total budget of 28000 baht seem reasonable and doable?

Thank you in advance for all and any input submitted.

Martyn

We just had this, please look at the other thread.

>>Does a monthly total budget of 28000 baht seem reasonable and doable?<<..yes ,but you can rent a house in the suburbs for B5000 a month .( my friend from Sweden had such a place 10 km out from the center .
