NLA to discuss plans to explain referendum question on April 25

BANGKOK, 20 April 2016 (NNT) - The National Legislative Assembly is planning to discuss the steps needed to explain the question that will be asked in the public referendum on the new draft charter.

Spokesman of the NLA Jate Sirataranon said that the special committee in charge of the collection of opinions on the charter drafting, which is chaired by the NLA’s First Vice President Surachai Liengboonlertchai, has scheduled a meeting on April 25 to discuss the details of the trips to visit people across the country to explain the public referendum question.

Mr. Jate said that NLA members will join members of the Constitution Drafting Commission to help with offering explanations in order to save on the budget, although the legislature will focus on discussing the referendum question while the CDC will be in charge of all key information of the draft charter.

The NLA spokesman believes that there won't be any confusion related to the question if more people acquire an accurate understanding and help disseminate information to the others.
