Phuket voted 8th among world's top 10 islands

PHUKET: -- Phuket has won eighth place among the world's top 10 islands in the latest reader survey conducted by travel review website TripAdvisor.

Phuket was described by TripAdvisor as an island with "blue lagoons and salmon sunsets [that] make for a dream-like atmosphere, and indeed, a vacation here can feel a bit surreal".

It also said: “Water sports are the most popular activities, though once you've had enough sun there's still plenty to explore at the island's aquariums, gardens and Buddhist temples.”

So, Koh Tao has a rank from Trip advisor - do they only judge after the landscape beauty and don't care about the visitors' safety?

Inside a vulcano it must be very beautiful too - with the illuminated fiery masses - why don't they rank them?

Sorry, but this article (from 1972- when Phuket was actually beautiful as described in the article) was accidentally printed in the Phuket Gazette today. Since then land developers, greedy local Thais and untouchable mafia (the worst Thais in the country) have ruined this place. I will never set foot in this shithole again. But that's just my opinion.

Very true, and Rarotonga in the Cook Islands would be one of them...........makes Phuket look like a rubbish tip.
