BANGKOK:— A suspected Colombian gang leader thought responsible in the theft at an MP's house last year has been arrested in Bangkok.

Luis Sanchez was arrested on overstay as he was eating at a restaurant in Ramkhamhaeng Soi 65, reports Manager.co.th

He denied that he is the leader of the gang responsible for a string of thefts committed over the last five years in the Chonburi, Samut Prakarn and Bangkok areas. He told police he was merely someone who helped others find accommodation and vehicles.

Due to a lack of evidence no arrest warrant had been issued but authorities found that he had overstayed his visa and are now deporting him. He will be blacklisted for five years.

Sanchez is believed to be behind a theft at the property of ex Prachatipat MP Prapan Khunamee last year, said tourist police.

Interesting journalism....

So for over 5 years those guys were stealing and robbing many properties in and around Bkk and

there's not a shred of evidence against them? or is it a cover up of some sort?

Who knows what was stolen from said MP that he doesn't want the case to proceed so his alleged

dirty laundry will not be reveled... otherwise, surly that thief and his gang would be found with stolen

merchandises or other damning evidences of their crimes......

Just overstaying no proves for other crimes. RTP are liars.

Who knows, it may take several years to arrange his deportation during which time he

will be held in jail. Then he will be deported and black listed according to the length

of his overstay. The MP may get his pound of flesh yet. whistling.gifclap2.gif

They suspect that he is Columbian. If he's known to have overstayed does he not have a passport identifying his nationality?

Try........ A Columbian suspected of being a gang leader. Yes, his Columbian Passport showed he is at the least an overstayer.

Hmmm...we don't have any HARD evidence he did anything but you know over staying=criminal so yeah that'll do rolleyes.gifwhistling.gif

It's Colombian, not Columbian.

Another Westerner demonstrating how much more advanced Western education systems are than Thailand's.
