PHUKET: -- Authorities should keep the “water play zones” enforced on the island for celebrating the Thai New Year Songkran in traditional festive spirit, according to an online poll by The Phuket News.

Each year authorities announce “water play zones” for Songkran, with safety the primary reason given for delineating where people can – and cannot – enthusiastically join in the Thai New Year celebrations.

To this, The Phuket News asked readers, “Should Songkran water play zones be regulated?”
