RTAF receives 8 women candidates for pilot positions

BANGKOK, 26 April 2016 (NNT) - Eight women have so far applied for pilot positions with the Royal Thai Air Force (RTAF), which began accepting women pilots for the first time this year.

RTAF Commander ACM Treetod Sonjance revealed that the application process began last Monday. This marks the first time in the Air Force's history that it is recruiting women pilots. The RTAF has allotted five positions for women this year and plans to maintain this quota in 2017 and 2018.

Each applicant is required to pass a series of tests and undergo medical and psychological examinations, as well as an interview before they are accepted.

Why a quota?

Reverse parking skills aren't required for aircraft.

Actually they are for the plane in the photo.

I see looks are a prerequisite.

What's the pilot ' position ' ?

Aah, you have a lot to learn Grasshopper.

Pilot's position? would that be the position the male pilot will chose?.....

And beside, why are they wearing flyer's insignia wings on their uniforms and they're still

not even a cadets?...... those wings have to be earn the hard way.....

They may be qualified commercial pilots already!

Or it could be the insignia of the air force training wing!

What, like the para wings?

There is nothing wrong with girls in uniform and I am of the same opinion as Taotoo why the quota , however this comes late in the evolution stakes as some air forces have been trialing robots for the future and even in the cockpit of commercial aircraft , however lining up a date with a robot is less appealing than the picture of the three lovely's in front of the Herc.......................................coffee1.gif

The RTAF require applicants to already be qualified pilots (previous thread). Not sure to what level, private or commercial, with/without an instrument rating.
