webfact Posted April 26, 2016 Share Posted April 26, 2016 PM tells Cabinet to work urgentlyBANGKOK, 27 April 2016 (NNT) - Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha has instructed the Cabinet to expedite the government’s work in order to avoid passing on burden to its successor.The PM said on Tuesday that there must be more clarity in the government’s implementation of its 2016-2017 roadmap and the National Economic and Social Development Master Plans. Gen. Prayut also stressed that the government needed to urgently heed the guidance of the National Reform Steering Assembly and the National Council for Peace and Order.The government was pushing for progress in its agricultural policy, water management, education, infrastructure as well as logistics, said the premier. The government would restructure the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology in preparation for the digital economy, he said.Regarding Thailand’s solutions to the problem of IUU fishing, Gen. Prayut said there would be a meeting in May on the matter. He suggested that the government should emphasize the fact that Thailand was doing the utmost in tackling the problem. He admitted that some fishing entrepreneurs might be affected by the government’s efforts against IUU.The PM congratulated Para rubber farmers after rubber price increased to 60-62 baht a kilogram. He added that the Ministry of Industry would cooperate with China in producing rubber products made from almost 200,000 tons of rubber in Thailand.
