Gen. Anupong: Officers have to enforce laws

BANGKOK, 29 April 2016 (NNT) - Minister of Interior Gen. Anupong Paochinda has stated that government officers have done their duty by arresting those who posted messages against the constitution draft on social media sites.

The offenders of the Computer Crime Act were detained at the 11th military circle in Bangkok, said the minister. He stressed that government officers had to enforce the laws so that there was peace in the country and a general election was organized according to the government’s road map.

The minister added that everyone had the right to criticize the charter draft in an academic manner. However, they cannot state whether other people should accept or not accept the draft. Gen. Anupong also confirmed that the government did not manipulate the direction of its public relations activities for the constitution draft.

Yep. Horrible evil doers must be rooted out for posting a message. County will definitely suffer immensely from a message posting. Horrible, just horrible, those messages.

"He stressed that government officers had to enforce the laws..."

Laws are about power, not about justice.

"He stressed that government officers had to enforce the laws .....had to enforce the law" cheesy.gif

Oh mannnnnnnnnnnnnnnn .... what can I say????? I live here ....enforce the law???? clap2.gif

In the other news: People have to do their jobs. Brilliant.

"had the right to criticize the charter draft in an academic manner. However, they cannot state whether other people should accept or not accept the draft" Ok, I'll bite: hear no evil see no evil speak no truth. coffee1.gif

Not that anyone in the past has tried to tell others how they should vote or even go as far a paying them

Could be true. But the present lot took over by the might of their guns and promised to stop that and bring back happiness.

"Gen. Anupong: Officers have to enforce laws"

cheesy.gifcheesy.gifcheesy.gif that is the best joke of the day!

You rarely see them enforce any laws, apart from collecting "tea-money"

If they would have enforced laws a few years ago, we wouldn't be in this mess now! 55555

Just some laws.

However, if Somchai posts "Vote No" he will be prosecuted, but if Somying posts "Vote Yes", she would not be touched.

Not that anyone in the past has tried to tell others how they should vote or even go as far a paying them

so that makes everything OK then?

Not that anyone in the past has tried to tell others how they should vote or even go as far a paying them

That is SO relevant!

Easy to enforce the law when its "cyber crime" and the villians are "Joe Public" Bit different when it comes to the police enforcing the laws on the roads, or for that matter even seeing them.

Let's see if the law is enforced on the scum in Hua him

Would be nice to have more than 2 months notice, that what you are doing/posting today will be highly illegal tomorrow.

It does seem interesting to me, that all of these people being arrested could not have been arrested 1 month ago, as they were not breaking any laws.

I don't believe the police collected all that information in just 1 month. It seems like all of the evidences were collected and laws tailor made to fit the evidences. I am sure sure this must certainly be a coincidence.

they cannot state whether other people should accept or not accept the draft

On April 24th PDRC foundation chairman Suthep Thuagsuban in a press conference at the Pacific City Club heaped praise on the draft charter citing the provisions regarding national reforms which, he said, are unprecedented and never before stipulated in the previous charters.

No action as yet has been taken against Suthep.

Perhaps because Suthep’s comments favor the Junta draft? Minister Prayuth Chan-ocha and other officials have made clear they disapprove of any criticism. But are willing to accept praise?

Could they perhaps enforce all the laws, evenly, fairly, impartially, honestly, without favor or bias to all citizens equally?

Just a thought ....................................... silly old me rolleyes.gif

Like preventing the rabble from blocking polling stations.

Or, the mess that caused the snap elections....

"Officers have to enforce laws"

I so wish, this idea would cross their minds with driving motocy without helmet, drunk driving, man beating up women, children being raped by monks, monks do as they please eg. leading protest or amassing fortunes ...and...or...and...

In the other news: People have to do their jobs. Brilliant.

Police arbitrarily arresting folks is hardly law enforcement.

It doesn't take a genius to work out that an ongoing sequence of elections stands a better chance than the option you champion - which has an unenviable 80 year record of failure.

Yes, a failure of all existing political parties. Something elections won't solve. Without rule of law, they can continue what they've been doing for 80 years. Corruption at it's worst.

yup let's make up a law then we just have to enforce it

you farang just don't understand 'Thainess'

sorry but I don't agree, people were being murdered on the streets of the capital city and the reds (PTP) were threatening an escalation organising training camps and arming themselves and talking about partition, what evil mastermind do think was funding all that and also my I add that all of this was being openly sanctioned by the sitting government, how (deleted) up is that, the army had no choice but to step in, it was very quickly getting out of control and believe me I have first hand experience of such things.

some people either have very short memories or very selective
