Has anyone in the Wat Ket area upgraded to VDSL with TOT?

Featured Replies

I've been having problems right from day one. It drops out for 90 seconds or so several times a day, now and again a bit longer and very occasionally have to unplug the router and count to 10, slowly. It's been an annoyance that I've been going to get on to for a long time, but finally did a few weeks ago. It took 3 tries, waiting a week between to give them a chance, but a technician finally came out last week - they had my number and said he'd phone to make sure someone was home, but of course they didn't and I was out. Mr K has no interest in or knowledge of computer issues. He said the techie 'reconfigured the black box thing' and that was it. Hasn't solved anything. I have been running PingPlotter, and have enough info to have the issue escalated, probably best to send the data to someone in support when I get around to looking up an email address, but I would be interested to hear from anyone along the river or close by it in Wat Ket who has upgraded and whether or not they are having problems with connectivity.

As I said, it's just a minor annoyance; I listen to ABC Melbourne radio station morning and BBC Tees afternoon, so I know how often it drops out - sometimes two or three times a day, sometimes 2 or 3 times an hour. Apart from this, the service is brilliant, I'm getting really good speeds for downloads, and can be downloading whilst Mr K is on Skype to someone back home and I'm in another room streaming something.

PingPlotter has given me proof that it's not my equipment or settings, possibly a faulty router or a dodgy connection in the box downstairs or out in the street. Just curious if anyone else is having the same issue.

Be the change that you wish to see in the world.

Sounds like a connection issue - had same problem on adsl a few months ago - continued to get worse and then phone line also went out - when that happened called and they had to clean contacts at the lightning box where street connection meets home wires. I should have tried that myself.
