BANGKOK, 3 May 2016, (NNT) - The stage play entitled "The Last Station" will soon be performed throughout the kingdom to promote unity in Thailand.

Mr. Alongkorn Ponlaboot, the first deputy speaker of the National Reform Steering Assembly (NRSA) met General Ekkachai Srivilas, director of the Office for Peace and Governance at the King Prajadhipok Institute (KPI) to discuss the detail of the project. The Last Station is expected raise public concerns about national conflicts and different aspects people have on the nation.

General Ekkachai said the production team is planning to perform the play in several remote provinces. The final schedule is expected within the next two weeks. He said those with different viewpoints would be invited to participate in the event while assuring that tight security will be provided at the venue.

He also stressed that the activity is not politically motivated and expressed his hope that the attempt would lead to an everlasting peace in the Kingdom.

"those with different viewpoints would be invited to participate in the event"

There is obviously a scene involving an 'attitude adjustment' skit.

Edit... Monty Python could do it justice.

"the last station" . lets hope so

The current government has shown a preference for the propaganda tools more commonly associated with communist countries of the past. Songs, plays, slogans, lists of rules; and mobilization of the military to help people "understand".

Now, if the PM's entourage accompanying the PM would simply sharpen their pencils and take better notes, we might better appreciate the wisdom of the leader, and this could be organized for the people in a pamphlet or on posters.

As I was standing in the exit line at customs yesterday, I noticed a poster. It said "Good Guys In, Bad Guys Out". I almost saluted.

Yes, this will be a big hit: potentially bigger than Jiang Qing's opera The Bucket of Manure back in late 60s Beijing.

If this stage play is ever televised, just ensure it is not televised during prime Soap show viewing hours as that will cause disunity. It could be dangerous to disrupt the viewing schedule of Soap shows (but the PM has a Friday night waiver to do such) as Thais love their Soap show celebrities. We could have riots in the sois with most of the rioters being females ranging in age from 9 to 90.

Treating the population like small children.

Who is paying for all this?

And does Uncle Too get to sing his song in it?

"He said those with different viewpoints would be invited to participate in the event while assuring that tight security will be provided at the venue."

Then there was a coup.. Sorry, wrong thread. Clearly in this case the tight security will merely be to hand out chocolates and flowers.

An adaptation of the Lord of the Flies might be more relevant.

I think this may soon be the new #thailand

I have no intention to disrespect the millions of people, of whatever race, nationality or religion who suffered, and their decendents continue to suffer, under the Nazi regime. This picture is intended as a warning. Should WE let the currnt state of affairs to continue and escalate.
