Last night I watched a 45 minute long documentary called "My Thai Bride". It came out in 2012 and features the story of a UK man called Ted who meets and marries a bar girl called Tip. I found it interesting and also very sad. I wondered what others with experience of Thailand and relationships with Thais would think of it. The website about the documentary is here:

You can find a link to a trailer on the site.

I sincerely hope that Ted is OK now.

According to David Tucker, director of the film:

We have remained friends with Ted, Tip and Mint since the film was shot. I am happy to report that after a few very rough years, Ted is now leading a successful and single life in his native Wales.

And maybe he's got a handsome boyfriend now. thumbsup.gif

Such an experience with Tips and Tricks can be indeed very dangerous. Rough years watching your gf/ wife going through your friends can be strange.facepalm.gif

I guess we need Jinghting's advice now, Methisdeadth's life experience might help to put the puzzle together to see the whole picture. Cheers-wai2.gif

should have been called my bar girl bride, she was never a serious wife was she, private dancer come to life. The worst one I knew the 'marriage' lasted six weeks before she sold the wedding ring and bike after the well ran dry.

Hi never try to understand Thai women they ding dong anyway if it works out well it really just depends on ur karma....

A friend from back home visited me in LOS last year and asked me if Id ever marry a Thai girl. My easy 'no' was supported by the fact that the standard of truth in Thai culture is just too far from what we know in the west.

My ex wife was a bar girl, lying, cheating were to her normal behavouir, now i am with a girl who is not only prettier but has never worked in a bar,the difference in attitude is amazing,i changed my plans to move to the Philippines due to meeting her,has never asked for money,[though of course i support her as she has given up her job to be with me],takes great care of me and the house, and goes everywhere with me
